Hi All,

I would like to move DHCP databases from the DC1 in domain1(Win2k AD) to DC2
in domain2 (Win2k3 AD), is there anyone who has done this before, please
teach me how to do it.

ps: Microsoft only give us the information of moving DHCP databases from one
server to another one server in the same domain, and please see the following
details:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;325473

Many thanks in advance.

Hi John,

Is your DHCP config complex? - If you only running DHCP on a single
server for a few subnets I would be tempted to force expiration of the
leases and then authorise the new DHCP server.

The DHCP "Conversation" will prevent any duplicate IP addresses being
assigned to a workstation.

This might not be an option for you if you do have a few thousand pc's
to consider but worth pointing out nonetheles.

HTH

All the information is about how to move the databases from one server to

What does DHCP have to do with domains? DHCP is an Internet standard.
The only link with AD is that the DHCP server must be authorised before it
will issue addresses. This is a safety device to try to avoid multiple DHCP
servers in a network.
