more than one identical PCI modem in a PC

Is it possible to use two identical pci modems in one PC and
select which one to use via the dialer software?
Someone is asking about doing this on one of the
linux boards I'm a member of and I don't think
it can work (the modems are identical Intel 536EP pci modems)
because the device driver is hard coded to just the
one device. I think two or more different pci modems
could work since they'd have unique devices.

Sure it is, as long as they use different IRQ.
