Hello

I have a Compaq WL100 PCMCIA card in my laptop. Does it exist any software
to monitor the traffic, signalstrength and other interresting stuff for this
card, or other WLAN cards in general? I'm using WinXP, and it doesn't give
much information about the status.

Henning

Sorry. There used to be a package there that included both the driver
and the Compaq Client Manager software. It doesn't seem to be
available on that site any more. Seems its a victim of the merger of
the Compaq and HP websites.

The WL110 is the same as an Orinoco Gold. What is the FCC ID on the WL100?
You (or I) could check the FCC site to see what card it really is.
Maybe Netstumbler will work. The 110 is supported. You could
download and try it. http://www.netstumbler.com/

NetStumbler worked great with WL100 aswell.

I don't know what the FFC ID is.

What does NetStumbler say the card is?

It should be printed on the card. Maybe the FCC number isn't included on
cards sold outside the US. After locating the FCCID, and looking at the
FCC web site, I was able to do a Google search that showed several of the
different cards that are the same as far as the FCC is concerned.
