Monitoring Network Traffic

I'd like to monitor traffic on my internet NIC connection.
I've installed SNMP service and I'm stumped as to how to
check whats going on. Any suggestions as to a help page
or white paper to get me going?

If you're running Windows 200X Server you can run Network Monitor. You can
also run Microsoft System Management Server (SMS). You can also accomplish
the task with (ISA).

I built up a machine that I specifically use for sniffing, monitoring, and
troubleshooting the LAN using Ethereal. It's an open source traffic and
capture sniffer.

I've also used Windump a Windows port of the *nix TcpDump command. (It's
also open source.)

There are a few other commerical sniffer and capture programs, but this list
should get you started.
