Hi,

We currently use a PIX 506e as a firewall/gateway and are wondering what
are best practices or recommended products to monitor bandwidth of
traffic from within the company on our Internet connection (Web
browsing, downloads, etc).

Right now we have to ask our ISP anytime we want to see data along these
lines and we can only get a simple graph of total traffic in/out.

Our goals would be:
1) Knowing our pattern of usage over various time intervals.
2) Knowing if we ought to buy more bandwidth (rather than hear it from
sales people).
3) Providing a means to zero in on any excessive bandwidth users on
the LAN (virus infected machine, abusive user, etc)
4) Tell us if an Internet connection has gone down. (We'll soon have
a second redundant connection with automatic failover and even though
users shouldn't notice that any outage has occurred, I would like to
know immediately.)

Any thoughts?
