modprobe pcnet32

what is pcnet32? why do i need that to enable network?
i am new in linux,please help

look on the big net what is MODULE on linux...

p.s. in win32 enviroment you install the driver for the correct install
for any type of interface instead on linux os (or *bsd os)you load the
module

pcnet32 is piece of software that the kernel needs to be able to
communicate to the outside world. I'm having great difficulties with this
driver in cooperation with my NIC (Network Interface card).

I suggest you check e.g. with the ETHERNET-HOWTO list on the Internet to see
if pcnet32 is the only available driver for your NIC.
