Hello,

Conf: Windows 2003, RRAS, <---- Cisco ASA5500 <--- vDSL 2M/2M ----
CLOUD\

Question: When user connect to RAS through PPTP VPN , in Task Manager/
Networking (on Server) there is a usage graph: RAS Server (Dial in)
Interface. In the same row of the RAS Adapter there is a field "link
speed" that says 28 Kbps and it eventually keeps growing, I've seen it
up to 3MB, is it possible to set and modify that speed or not
possible.

Thanks

We have the same situation here. When my VPN users complain about the
connection being slow it's guaranteed the link speed is down somewhere
between 28k and 200k. It's been as high as 3mbps and everyone is loving life.
From what we have both stated the 28k to 3mbps must be limits set by the RAS
server. We can't find any rhyme or reason for these fluctuations as they
happen all day everyday. Our ISP was just here and did a complete test from
our network to the outside and then hooked directly to the router to the
outside. The router is a Cisco 1721. From the router out worked fine, include
the RAS and it slowed down. We rebooted everything and the RAS link speed
started at 28k and has been slowly working it's way back up to 807k. The NIC
to our router has been changed 3 times without making any diffrence and it's
always pegged at 100mbps anyway. We have a dedicated T1 to the router so I
would have expected the RAS linked to top out at close to 1.5mbps. Anybody
with any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

how to modify the contents of a TCP/IP packet before it is delivered? Can this be done with ip helper api, can it be done with sockets? I can't seem to find any documentation on how to modify packets before they are delivered. dr Windows Networking 0 07-18-2007 04:36 AM
