Try going to the "File" menu, and click on "Properties". On my system that
brings up a dialogue box with the internal modem pre-selected, but there is
a drop down menu with the other comm ports listed...
(Hmmm. Modem, four comm ports, and "TCP/IP (Winsock)". Configuring Winsock
sets me up to use port 23 over an Ethernet connection. Time to play some
more!)
Oh, yeah. I've never set up a Hyper Terminal session, so I don't know the
best parameters to use in the configuration. Probably safe to use the
highest speed setting because the hardware limits will override your choice,
but...if the two computers have different limits, you may have to throttle
back to the speed of the slower computer. The speeds should be the same for
both connections.
Defauld flow control is "Hardware", but you may need to change that, too.
Experiment. Unless somebody who has actually done this has a better answer.
Data bits: 8, Parity: None, and Stop bits: 1 are the default settings, and I
can't think of any reason to change them. Unless you know for a fact that
you are connecting to an ASR-33 and need special settings for that! {And if
you even know what an ASR-33 is, you are showing your age; and probably
should be able to answer the question, instead of asking it!}
