The firmware for the Alcatel 330 contains a lot of interesting text
strings, suggesting that the modem 'knows' a lot of the techie stuff
like upstream and downstream attenuation. To the best of my knowledge,
neither the Windows nor Linux front-end drivers presently output this
info.

1) Is it in fact available from any of the 330 drivers?
2) do other Alcatel modems have drivers which can interrogate the info
on those modems for attentuation and other such info?

Bob
