Hi
I have a LinkSys 11g router which works fine on my LAN. Broadband arrives
soon and I need to get a modem, but not too keen on a USB modem, which is
what I assume BT will be providing me with, albeit free. Any modem
recommendations? I've seen the various guides, but I'd prefer the personal
rather than sales view.

ta

BT only supply the service to ISPs.
The ISP then arranges to supply you with a modem, or let you buy one
on your own.
There are many options, you can get anything from nothing all the
way up to a man to come and install it for you and set it up.

The Zoom X3 is a good choice. BT Wholesale are selling it to
Enterprise customers who want Ethernet connections. PIPEX also use
Zoom X4 product.

Bill - many thanks, I was slowly coming to a similar conclusion, but your
advice speeded things up. ta
