This statistic is dodgy.

If true it would mean about 2.5 million phones were stolen in the UK every
year - more than the total number of all burglaries, robberies and thefts
from the person put together!

Or just use your house contents insurance.

Spam again...what has this to do with broadband?

Are they really stolen, or do insurance companies not realise people use the
policy as a cheap way to upgrade when a newer model comes out. The phone
gets sold on auction sites for use abroad, or kept in the UK as mobile
companies refuse to block phones reported stolen.

Mobile phone insurance is often a money making scam, see the Martin Lewis
money saving expert site for which policies are a rip-off. Most don't cover
as you would imagine, so are not worth paying for.

I'm Okay.
I only ever make 11 second calls, and always carry 200 spares.
Rather inconvenient, though.
