These things are illegal apparently but has anyone had any experience of
using one? I'm sorely tempted to get one for my train journeys. Why some
people can't hold a phone conversation without shouting eludes me.

Followups set to uk.telecom.mobile and uk.telecom. Apologies to readers of
uk.telecom.broadband - my mistake.

Has anyone ordered and received any? I am worried about Customs
nicking it.
I really need one of these.
Last week I spend 4 hours on a packed train surrounded by morons
talking bullshit on their phones.
Two giggly girls behind me taking it in turn to use the phone, the
idiot next to me phoning his mates one by one to tell them he was on a
train, a bloke in front having an argument with some female ... and
me trying to do some work on my laptop.

Do the trains (and planes, and commercial metal-shed buildings etc) not have
aerials/repeaters on the inside wired to something on the outside?

I know someone who got one shipped over and he said it was useless.
Killed his mobile when within 6 ft, but useless for most networks
outside that range. I suspect that you have to pay silly money to get
one that really stands a chance of working.
