I am having difficulty establishing/maintaning an
internet connection to the SBC-Yahoo service with the
MN700. Modem is a speedstrean 5100

Tried the firmware upgrade to avoid the PPPoE issue
(version 2.0.8.0333) - no luck.

Any other thoughts?

Sure thing, Steve. SBC-Yahoo needs to specifically have this information
from a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
=====
CAUSE
This issue may occur when the Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE)
settings are not configured correctly.
RESOLUTION
If the connection is PPPoE, you must type your user name in the form user
(E-Mail Removed) or user (E-Mail Removed).
=====

Hope it fixes it for you.

i had the same problem. a tech told me to make sure
the "authentication" setting for "802.11" was unchecked
for your adapter.

i suggest reconnecting your modem to computer. using MBN
Utility to download available updates in the help menu.
uncheck authentication setting. use MBN utility again and
use installation wizard when prompted to download
critical updates do so.

the first update should have been for applications. the
second update should be for boot and firmware update.

you can monitor versions at bottom of home page of MBN
basestation tool once logged in.

this great at microsoft helped me through this just a
couple of days ago.

Thanks - but I have it specified in that format. I have
very little trouble with the intial connection, I just
can't keep in running for more than 15 minutes and can't
re-establish it without reseting the MN700. ? - Steve

Just for kicks, because I don't use PPPoE, but if you go into the Base
Station Management Tool and verify all the settings, sign out, and then
power off the base station for about a minute, could that start it properly?

I have the very same problem, with the same router and the
same modem. The MN-700 wireless connection drops every 3
minutes at worst, every 15 minutes at best. The modem
connection is fine, but the router drops its connection to
the computer even when my laptop is sitting right next to
it. I am not a sophisticated user, so I will be watching
your postings for a solution!
