Russ, here's a Knowledge Base article on ports needed for DirectPlay:

need to use DMZ in most cases, in fact that only opens your system to the
outside world. What you do need to do is direct the port opening to the
proper machine on your system. Your "public" IP - your Internet address -
is one thing, and that's to the router/base station only. On your side of
the router, you need to direct the port to the proper machine.
