MN700 connection drop once or twice a day

My desktop is connected to MN700 base station through
ethernet cable, everything seems to work fine, but about
once or twice a day, the conncetion get dropped, both
internet and local network. After I power off and on
again the base station, everything will back to normal -
that is before the next drop.

I don't have 2.4G cordless phone in the house. But I do
have Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse, but the
connections alaways drop while I am away and not using
the keyboard or mouse.

What causes the drop and how do I fix this problem?

The wireless mouse and keyboard use frequencies roughly 3 orders of
magnitude lower than the 802.11g router does (27 mhz versus 2400 mhz).

There should be no conflict between them. It's far more likely that your
problem lies elsewhere

Did you try installing the latest firmware update for MN-
700?

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;831277

I too had the same problems and now seem to be OK after
the update.

I also had problems with my wireless network everytime I
switched on my 2.4GHz cordless phone. I switched the
wireless channel number from 6(default) to 11 and things
seem to be OK now.

It is really a puzzle for me!

I have all the latest driver, firmware and updates, just
checked.

And we are NOT talking about anything wireless here,
right now I am just using the base station as a ROUTER,
my desktop is connected to the base station via ethernet
cable, and my laptop is miles away in my office these
days.

Once or twice a day the internet connection dies, and
base station itself is not accessible either, only way to
re-establish connection is to power off MN700 and turn it
on again.

Something is wrong with the router part? Should I return
the hardware and get something else?

I have the same problem, same scenario with the wireless
mouse, and I have updated my firmware to the latest one.

Thanks

It is a problem with the router. Many of us have the same
problem.

right click my network places, choose properties

right click your wireless network connection, choose "view wireless network
connections"

if it's checked, uncheck "enable 802.1x authentication for this network"

See if that makes a difference
