Since the MN700 is a totally Broadcom based router, is ther GPL code
available from MS? (linux based OS)

Let's see Microsoft doesn't give out code.

That's strike 1.

It's Running Windows.

That's strike 2.

so you will never get the code unless you steal it, but they will
prosecute you with there strong legal team if you did that. So I guess
you will be better off leaving well enough alone. Or you might get a
strike 3 & then you'd be out.

Well, this is sad for such a short answer. Since they no longer support
their broadband routers and have been discontinued, it doesn't make sense to
keep others from building a better product.

They still support them. They are just phasing them out. Also
Microsoft is not very likely to ever use linux for an OS on any of there
products since they do own Windows.
