Yes, you can use a USB modem (though it isn't desired) with the MN-700 set
to access mode only out from the computer hosting the USB modem via a NIC
and using ICS. This is similar to a satellite Internet connection described
in this Knowledge Base article:

If you don't have satellite, it would be desirable to see if your ISP would
trade you modems so you're not using USB. With the USB modem, your host
machine will need to be on at all times for other computers on your LAN to
have internet access since it shares the connection via ICS.
