I have five computers and a server hardwired to a Linksys
8 port switch. I wanted to add DSL internet to the
network and also be able to use my laptop wirelessly. I
got the MN 700 router hoping to just plug into an open
port on the 8 hole switch. The router works fine with
one computer plug into one of its four ports but loses
connection when it is plugged into the 8 plug switch.
The server is giving out ip addresses in the 192.168.0.1
to 192.168.0.199 range while the router is trying to give
out addresses in the 192.168.2.1 to192.168.2.199 range.
This conflict makes the whole network fault. MS support
has had three different solutions each time I have
called. They now rec'd two adapters on the server with
the mn 700 on one ethernet adapter and a cord to the 8
port network switch from the other adapter. Then run MS
internet share?????? Any help would be apprecited. Dan

the easiest solution is to use the MN-700 as your edge device and not
have the server dole out DHCP.

Internet
MN700
8port switch uplinked to MN700

Others have reported problems disabling DHCP in the MN700 and using a
connected server in the above configuration to handle doling out IPs
but you can certainly try to do this.
