MN700 and other pcs

i have the MN700 router.. i had it configured on one of my
laptops... i reformatted my desktop and i have to reset all
the settings.. inwhich i dont know how to do and i am cont.
on hold with microsoft customer service line. soooo.. well
i have another laptop and i would like to configure it so
that both laptops can share the connectivity. first i guess
i need to configre the router again. and how to do that.
also on how to configure both laptops to share the dsl
through the same router/modem. i hope this made sense. i
have XP on all machines. ty for your help.. much appreciated...

The router is a self contained computer -- you can only
erase all settings by resetting it.

So... you only need to setup your computers :-) unless you
reset the router. If you need to reconfigure the router,
run IE and go to 192.168.2.1. Configure the WAN screen
first with the settings from your ISP. Then, go to the
wireless screen and change the SSID from the default. You
may want to go to the security/wireless screen and setup a
WEP key (sometimes is easier to add the WEP key after
setting all laptops, so you may leave it blank fo now).

For the desktop, assuming it's wired, just add a network
connection (if there is not one there already) -- specify
it to obtain an IP from the "server" (i.e. the router),
give a workgroup name, and you are set. If there was a
connection, change the workgroup name (you can do it
Control Panel/System or through the Network properties). If
you want to exchange files among the computers also disable
any software firewall on the computer (e.g. Norton) or set
it to trust the 192.168.2.x subnet.

For the laptops, if they are wired into the router, do the
same thing as for the desktop (use the same workgroup name
on all of them). If they are wireless, use the CD to
configure the wireless connection. Use the SSID, channel
(the default is 6), and WEP key you assigned to the router.
If you left the WEP disabled on the router, this is the
time to test, and if you can go online, add a WEP key on
the router and the laptops.

Hi,

Make sure that the DHCP option in the MN-700 is on, then go to the notebook
and make sure that the network connection properties of the TCP/IP protocol
is marked as obtain automatic IP ,

That's all you have to do I think
