MN510 troubleshooting question

Hello, I am having trouble getting my MN 510 to setup
properly and my base Station to recognize it. When I try
to do the setup for the MN510 it works fine until I get to
where I have to install the WEP key, when I type or paste
it in an error message comes on saying that its typed in
incorrectly, but I know for a fact its right. The adapter
reads the base station but the base station doesnt read it
and I can't get online. I know its not the PC because
when I use an ethernet cable it works fine. I'm
thoroughly perplexed by this, I can leave the pc hard
wired into the base station but I don't want 50 ft of
cat 5 cable running down the hallway of my apartment.
Someone please help me on this. Thank you for any
information or help you can give me.
