When doing the configuring of the MN500 access point
should it be connected to a computer disconnected from the
existing working MN700 network?

When configuring the MN500 access point should the
computer ethernet port be connected to a MN500 LAN
ethernet port with the numbers or the modem port?

When doing the final connections should the MN700 LAN port
with the numbers 1 to 4 (one of those) be connected to the
modem port or alternatively numbered ethernet ports 1 to 4
on the MN500?

What is the difference between access point and bridge and
is there any practical significane when configuring the
MN500? I'm using the MN500 to extend my wireless range
and to be able to add more wired computers to it.

thank you
rad

I had my computer connected directly to the MN-500 when I
configured mine. I have the MN-700 going to a numbered
port on the MN-500. Make sure you change the IP address
of the MN-500. That's what I did and I can see all my
internal network, but I can't see the Internet yet. Still
waiting for some help on that. I've done it all wired
only, but the other thing I think you need to do for the
wireless part is to set up the access point on a different
channel than the MN-700 so machines within range of both
aren't confused. My guess is this essentially sets up the
MN-500 as a seperate second wireless network in your
house. If you use WEP, you'll have to load the encryption
code on your PCs just like you did for the MN-700 even if
you use the same 26 character code.

Good luck. If you solve the internet connection problem
let me know.
