MN500 blocking incoming packets since firmware upgrade

Since I did last published upgra (firmware V1.11.017),
the MN500 base station is blocking some incoming IP
packets when I try to open some we pages (Connection
attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- message in
the system log), resulting on web pages estremely slow or
never load. I do not have the base station firewall
enabled. I tried several setting changes but no one
resulted (including resets, factory defaults, and so on).
Does anyone have a clue on what is hapenning? It never
happens before.

Mariano

The "Connection attempt..." msgs indicate attacks or port
scans on your LAN that the firewall is blocking. This
happens all the time. If you are getting a lot of them
might be because of the recent worms on the Internet, and
that would explain slow traffic (and some lost pages). It
happens to everybody from time to time (although it might
be at different times, depending how the worm
propagates), and after a few days it goes away.

You may want to check the Internet speed. Open Command
Prompt and enter tracert followed by the domain of a site
with problems to access (e.g. tracert cnn.com). This will
show you the time for each hoop on the Internet. Typical
values are in 100's but if the connection is clogged you
may see some * indicating a time out.

Also, make sure you keep the firewall on all the times,
and run a virus check on your computer.

Thanks! You are right. It was caused by some sites with
kind of worm. What was very strange to me is that the
firewall was disabled and the base station still block
the traffic. Anyway, seems to go away at least with the
two sites I was having problems.
