I'm trying to help my sister from afar. My parents have two PC's running XP
pro with a MN100
router. When my sister visits she wants to be able to connect her laptop (XP
Home). The router recognized the laptop but so far she has not been able to
surf. She has reset all including cable modem. Does someone have an idea
about what to try next?
Thanks for any help.

Is she running MSBN software? If so, she should use that,
click Tools, Setup Wizard to configure the settings for
her network card. She should know the name of her
parents' SSID (network name), WEP key (if used). I
noticed that when first setting up a new adapter, I change
my router settings to "broadcast the network name" so the
new card can detect it, then after it has been configured
and connected, I change the router settings back so the
network name is not broadcasted. I hope this helps.
