Below are the two solutions provided on the Microsoft
webside. The power light is green and solid, so ther is
no power problem. The wireless light is blinking so there
must be data trafic. The X-box light is green blinking,
again data is traveling. Yet the adapter is not found??

Anybody ahve any other suggestions?

thanks Ray

"If your Microsoft® Xbox® video game console doesn't
recognize your Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter, try the
following:

Check the Power light on the adapter. Make sure that the
Power light is green. If it isn't, check the power supply
connection. Unplug the power supply, and then plug it in
again.
Check the Ethernet connection. Make sure that the Xbox
light on the wireless adapter is green. Try disconnecting
the adapter cable and connecting it again."

Where is it saying adapter not found? Are you setting it up through the
Dashboard? Check to make sure you're using Infrastructure, otherwise it
won't connect to your base station/router. Also, use WEP only, not WPA and
while setting it up, make sure your base station is broadcasting the SSID.

Chris,

Yes I am using the dashboard. Can it be setup through a
PC and if so what software wizzard should I use. I am
using a Linksys WAP54G access point. I put the WET11 back
and it works. The problem is that since that I can not
set it up. Everything you recommended has been done!

thanks Ray

No, the MN-740 needs to be set up the first time on an Xbox through the
Dashboard. Have you followed the explicit directions here:
http://www.xbox.com/en-us/live/connect/msmn740.htm ? Make sure you check
the firmware, since there's an update at the URL above.

Follow the step-by-step instructions at the Xbox URL I posted earlier, Ray.
If I could do it, you can. 8-)

Chris,

Thanks for your help, it is still not working as I can
not get passed the next point:
From the Xbox Dashboard, select Settings, Network
Settings, Advanced, and Wireless. At this point it says
that there it can not find the MN-740. You can not enter
any data now. I think that the bridge is bad. Again my
old WET 11 is working fine and I use the same cat 5
cable. Of course this product can be configured with a PC.

Note: for the first time in my life I read the
instuctions and things do not work. The rest of my
network is running fine.

Happy Holidays Ray!

Maybe you've got a defective unit. I would return it to place of purchase
and ask for either a refund or replacement.
