I swapped my network around last night to hardwire my
Xbox to my router and used my MN-740 to connect my PC
(w/Win 98SE) to the network. It works, but I did not
find any way to configure the MN-740 from the PC. I just
left it configured from the Xbox and then moved
everything around without resetting the MN-740.
All I had to do on the PC was to define a new network
connection and set everything to autodetect. Bingo, it
worked. I supposed if I ever change my WEP key I'll have
to reconnect the adapter to the Xbox temporarily to make
the change.
BTW - I never used the setup CD that came with the MN-740
when I connected it to my Xbox. It is still sealed in
the package. But I have a newer Xbox that already had
the Live and networking options on the dashboard. Maybe
this is only required for older Xboxes that didn't
already have the updated software, IDK.
