Mn-730 does not work in "G" only mode

My mn-730 will not connect to my MN-700 when the router
is configured to operate in "G" only. I have to keep the
router on mixed mode. The router seems to be working just
fine as my other devices don't experience any problems
when it's in G only. Latest mn-700 firmware is installed.

Any suggestions?
