MN-730 and Win 98 Shared security mode

Is it possible to set Shared security mode with my MN-
730? The MN-730 seems to only work with my dlink wi-fi
router when I switch the router back to Open mode. This
is not the type of security I want, because WEP alone is
unsecure. This should NOT be a win 98 limitation as I
have a dlink notebook card running on win 98 laptop that
does Shared mode. If MN-730 limits shared mode to ony
win 2000/xp then that is not right. Hope this is not the
case.
