MN-720 WPA security error message

I have a MN-720 USB network adapter, windows XP with SP2.
When I try to enable WPA security, I get a message from
the setup wizzard: "This network requires WPA security,
which is not supported in this version". Also, the
wireless tab on the network connection is missing. Please
help! TIA.
