Thanks for your response but all of the locations that I've
tried have had free Wi-Fi Hotspots. I travel around the US
on business 2 to 3 weeks a month and a lot of places that I
stay offer "Wireless Internet" as a free incentive.
Here's a web site that lists free Wi-Fi Hotspots:
http://www.wififreespot.com/
Today I went to a Starbucks and tried to log onto their
T-Mobile Hotspot with a with their Free Day Pass.
I had the same results at Starbucks this afternoon. I show a
strong signal from the Access Point but the Linksys
Configuration Wizard cannot connect to the internet.
Almost all of the locations I've tried have Linksys Access
Points which should make connections easier.
There are 4 versions of the Linksys WPC11 Wireless B
Notebook Adapter. I have the ver 4 which is was released
after Cisco acquired Linksys. I've installed the latest
drivers and tried all of the recommended fixes but nothing
has worked.
FYI, From what I've read on the Internet, Win98 doesn't seem
to work with Wireless PC Cards and for some reason a number
of cards have problems with Win98SE.
I haven't been able to get in touch with Linksys's 24 x 7
support.
What I inquired about was other users experiences with the
MS MN-720 Wireless PC Cards.
