I just tried to use wpa security with the Linksys WRT45G
wireless-g broadband router with the MN-720. The
reinstalation from MSBN install disk went great until the
very end when in very small print there was a message
state that the software did not support wpa.

What the H-E double hockeysticks!!!!!!!!

Is there something that I missed???

More information on this .....
....I am able to run WEP without any difficulty and have
verified that XP (Home Version) has the appropriate
patches as mentioned in MSKB 826942 article, "Wireless
update rollup package for Windows XP is available".
....I have tried both TKIP & AES both get the following
message:
"The selected network requires WPA security which is not
supported with this version".

As I mention the MN-720 & the Linksys WRT54G run fine with
WEP.

Any & all help is greatly appreciated.

Don't use the Broadband Networking Utility to setup WPA. Use the Zero
Wireless Config.

Essentially, you'll be using WEP-PSK with TKIP.

See here for details

I still cannot get WPA-PSK-TKIP to work.

I reviewed this article and followed the directions prior
to my first post and again just now. My understanding is
that Zero Wireless Config is implemented via the download
and installation of Q815485_WXP_SP2_x86_ENU.exe.

I could see that this had been installed via one of the MS
Updates earlier by looking at the registry (and Add Remove
programs).... I redownloaded and reinstalled this patch.
Prior to this I also redownloaded and reinstalled the
rollup package: WindowsXP-KB826942-x86-ENU.exe. Both of
these facility had been in place.

After reinstallation I have rebooted serveral times!!!!!

The Windows XP configution is able to recognize that the
wireless network is present and is able to identify it
correctly as WPA-PSK-PKIP. I appears to recognize that the
key is accepted. Network Connections indicate that the
wireless connection is enabled. I STILL CANNOT access the
internet or my LAN via the wireless WPA. I CAN access the
network just fine using WEP.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the SSID more than 20 characters? I found that with Microsoft's MN-700
access point and MN-720 adapter on WinXP the WPA connection always failed if
the SSID was more than 20 characters. There was a knowledge base article on
Microsoft's web acknowledging the problem. I don't know if it's a problem
with WinXP or their particular hardware, but you could try an
under-20-character SSID to see if it works.
