MN-720 Causing system reboots and critical errors

I'm experiencing some nasty problems. I went from the MN-520 to
the MN-720 (and now back to MN-520).

My laptop was crashing with system errors and spontaneously rebooting,
not to mention suffering from "Incorrect security key" everytime I
rebooted. It also toasted my instant messenger (some corrupt files),
and pooched my norton antivirus (I'm guessing one of the cold crashes
left some residual crap).

Since I've gone back to the MN-520 I've had ZERO problems (= not a
coincidence). I wouldn't have bought the MN-720 package if the MN-520
didn't have high CPU usage (killing my laptop via other means).

Has this issue been solved at all? I have a Toshiba Satellite P42.0g
(1g of RAM). I'm running WinXP-sp1a completely up to date, and have
installed all the latest MSBN software.

I'm ready to return this product to Best Buy and try to forget I've
ever bought it. I feared that if I left this card in my laptop my
laptop would be junk by the end (and I doubt MS would pay to replace
it).

The best advice any of the MVP's can give is to give product support a
call. If they can't help you, then DO return the card to best Buy.

i can understand the card is rebooting your computer and
crashing it with critical errors. My DWL-22 [d-link
802.11b usb] does that as well, but i don't understand
why its toasting your other programs. care to explain a
bit?
