MN-710 unable to load some web pages

I upgraded from Microsoft's older Base station and USB
adapter. I am finding that with the MN-710 USB adapter,
some websites are not loading properly in IE6. Status is
shown as Done, although the page is blank. Reloading the
page sometimes works. Seems to vary by website. With the
MN-710, other network applications like LiveUpdate, email
and so on, seem to work fine. Only browsing seems to be
affected. Since the MN-710 is USB 2, I installed a USB 2
expansion card. (The Device Manager indicates all
hardware is functioning properly.) Still have the
problem. I am continuing to use the new Base station in
Mixed (G and B) mode, but have had to fall back to the MN-
510 (B) USB adapter to get reliable surfing.
Direct attachment to the base station via ethernet cable,
albeit with a different computer, works fine. A laptop
with built-in wireless capability is running fine in G
mode.

Tried changing IE settings to automatically detect
network. Seems to make page loading more reliable but I
don't understand the logic of this.
