MN-700 wrong date in log plus reset problems

Have latest firmware "590", although I notice that KB article 831277
(firmware upgrade) has been withdrawn
http://tinyurl.com/2jqkkt (and click on upgrade url to see error message)

Anyway I have been trying to debug why the router needs to be reset.
Googleing this news group I see suggestions about getting rid of either
MN-700 or bit-torrent. Btorrent is used occassionally but more likely games
being played: 2 players and occasionally a server.

The symptom is the wireless systems quit working first, then the hardwired
ones. I (or the 2 kids playing) can either power off and on MN-700 or issue
a release and and re-acquire after logging on to admin functions. A release
and re-acquire gets the same IP address from the ISP so the problems is not
the ISP. In addition, the laptops can switch to one of several idiot
neighbors that have open wireless systems so I am pretty sure the problem is
the MN-700.

Looking at the security log I see the date is always 1999-6-1 though the
time seems to be correct. I can set the time to use time.microsoft.com.
There is no place to enter the date on that MN-700 page.

Maybe I can return this unit because it never has the correct year? I once
got out of a traffic ticket because the year was wrong.

Anyway, any suggetions or shall I switch to one of those new wireless with
two antenna and 108 rate?

yeah, my mn-700 also has the wrong date, all my firmware is updated. It just
happened, probably related to the time change--fricken microsoft. no matter
how many times or different time servers I use, even a hard reset to wipe all
settings and reloaded firmware, the date in the device log is still June
1999. what happens is since the date is wrong, your dhcp lease expires,
forcing you to either repair your network connection or repower everything,
it's good for 20 min, then expires. Then you loose your connection. Did I
say I hate microsoft, they suck.

I'm going to send mine back to microsoft and tell them they can keep the
piece of crap. I went to Best Buy and bought a Linksys this time, can't go
wrong with Cisco.

That date doesn't control the lease time. That's a manual setting you can
make within the router. I set mine to two weeks, and had no problem. If
your setting was changing on your there probably is another reason.
