I just purchased MN 700 and two adapters to set up a home
network. My computer is an ABS with XP (recently
purchased).

My broadband internet connection works fine prior to
attempting to set up the base station. I go through set-
up until reaching the point where the internet connection
must be validated (I follow the directions in the
documentation carefully - I don't connect the base
station to the modem to the computer until the softwarer
is successfully installed). It cannot then "validate my
internet connection." I have checked all connections, re-
set modem and base station, and made sure that the
broadband connection is working when the base station is
not connected. I am at a loss. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be that my
ISP only allowed 2 MAC addresses and I had two already
with the original computer then the original router. The
MS router was the 3rd MAC adress and my ISP cut me off.
Had to phone them reset the MAC adress on one of their
web sites then allow it to find the one for my computer
then for the MS router. Also you could try using the
clone MAC adress feature on your MS router. But the
easiest would be to phone your ISP and see if they see
the correct MAC adress for you
