MN-700 website problem

hey everyone!

Here's the deal. I've got the MN-700 to replace a d-link
614+. So far so good...
After pulling my hair out for days trying to figure out
why i couldn't get the ports to forward for my website, I
finally learn that the forwarding was working fine - but I
can't see it!
I cannot access anything that has a remote access pointing
to my computer (my website, hosted by no-ip but pointing
back to my computer, my vnc client, my webcam, etc) ON my
computer. The content is viewable anywhere else, but I
have no way to know if it is working unless I IM someone
and ask them. These services don't work on any computer
on my home network either, not just mine...

Can anyone think of why this might be happening?

Thanks,
Michael

Everybody having same problem. The MN-700 does not have
*loopback* support, which supposedly may be added on a
future firmware upgrade... This means, one cannot access
a service running in the LAN from a LAN computer using
the WAN IP -- the only way is to use a private IP (a
192.168.2.x)

The same happened on the MN-500 and a firmware upgrade
fix it. Let's just hope same happens for the MN-700

I can't help with your problem with that router, but I can tell you the way
I fixed my MN-700 problems. I took and back and got a working wireless
router.

Mike,

Check out the discussion (Gary Tsang and Vesco) in email
from 9:00pm last night under the subject: MN 820 Port
Forwarding. Solution work-arounds are there....

Thanks a lot, gentlemen. I'll try the topic you
mentioned, and thanks for the heads up on the loopback. I
think I've got everything setup so that the wan ip is
different frmo all my internal ip's, but i think that i
cloned the mac address during set-up, and that may be part
of the problem, too. Thanks again!
