Maybe I'm stupid, but I want to add a second computer so
I actually have a network but I can't figure out how.
Secondly, does it have to be connected wirelessly or can
I use an Ethernet cable to connect it straight to the
base also?

camp_joshua,

Yes. Like a Joshua tree, you can either branch out
wirelessly or dig your roots deep with hardwired cable.

Wirelessly, add a second PC. The DHCP server of your MN-
700 will recognize it once you configure it's wireless
adapter to your network. What wireless adapter are
you/will you be using? An MN-720 or MN-710 is cool with
the MN-700 base.

One issue: your hardwired PC will not show up in the
(wiresless) Broadband Network Utility. If you hardwire,
you'll have to setup a typical home network, etc. to
establish a share. So, a completely wireless netork
would be more "transparent".
