Please help, I have MN-700 running fine except for the
following problems:

1) I have 2 computers only and the base station can view
the shares on the client BUT the client cannot access the
base station computer...just gets error message "access
denied". I have tried setting up a user account and that
doesn't help either. Any suggestions?

2) I host 3 web sites that work fine for the world but I
cannot view them from the base station or the
client...just get "Page cannot be displayed". I don't
understand and this is very frustrating because I need to
see it in order to setup the forums and other .asp or .cgi
programs I have running on them. I have all the updates
installed and current according to the site...am I missing
something?

Thanks to anyone who can help =)

1 - Check to see if you're running any type of Symantec program on the
computer that can't be accessed, or some third-party firewall. That'll
block access.
2 - The MN-700 doesn't yet support loop-back as you're attempting to do.
Sorry.

I have NO firewall software on either computer except
whatever the MN-700 software installed.

Also, it's very odd to me about the loopback. Microsoft
knows we host webs since it comes with most of their OS
programs. They should also know then that once in a while
we would want to check that page to make sure it's
working? Maybe I'm wrong but still doesn't make sense.
I'm not a perfect coder so looking at asp code tells me
nothing about how the final look is. I guess I'll just to
sell this thing and look for something better :/

A lot of us agree on the loop back support, Eden. The MN-700 base station
firewall protects the "outside" or incoming ISP feed, not within your LAN,
so there must be something else not quite right.

Do you have sharing set up on both computers? Are both systems part of the
same Workgroup? What operating systems are you using?

Thanks Chris,
I have Computer 1 with Windows Server 2003 and Computer 2
with Windows Server 2000. All available updates are
installed. Certain folders are setup on both computers to
share and they are both in the same workgroup. Both
computers can see both computers in the network folder.
Computer 1 (2003) can connect to Computer 2 BUT Computer 2
can't. It just says access denied or invalid password. I
have tried setting up permissions on each folder and I've
tried creating user account for Computer 2 on Computer 1
and even given it administrator privilages for a test.
Nothing I do will allow Computer 2 to access Computer 1's
shared folder although it can see it and ping it. I have
also reset the base station quite a few times and tried to
start from scratch but that didn't help either.

First, I think it has nothing at all to do with the MN-700, but the
management of Server 2003. If you're in Windows Explorer on Server 2003,
right-click the shared folder and select Properties. Go to the Sharing tab
and take a look at the designations of the Shared name. If it still has the
C$ only designation, you need to create a New Share and give it an
appropriate name so you know what it is from the other computer. You can
then set Permissions for that folder.

Without getting completely off the subject of this newsgroup, I would
suggest you post the access issue in a more appropriate
microsoft.public.windows.server.* newsgroup - perhaps in the setup group.
Windows Server 2003 can be a complicated animal, and even more so depending
on what version you're running.
