MN-700 and VPN Access

I just successfully set up my IPSec compliant VPN on the
MN-700. I have a WinXP Pro laptop with a Linksys
wireless card and a MS MN-700. Do not diable your
firewall and do not set up a DMZ. Why loose the firewall
protection? Instead, go to Port Forwarding and set up an
Application triggered port forwarding. Enter a
description for your application, enter an outbound port,
the trigger type as UDP, set the same inbound port and
public type to UDP. Keep in mind that the default IPSec
ports are 50, 51, and 500, so triggers will need to be
created for each port. Check with your IT dept. to make
sure these default ports are used on your company
firewall. After creating these triggers, your
authentication should work successfully over port 50 and
51 and a connection can be established on 500.
