I can no longer access newsgroups on Earthlink's news server because the
public IP address that my MN-700 assigns is not compatible. It makes
Earthlink think that I am using another ISP.

I've tried rebooting the router (and my dsl modem) several times, but this
has not fixed it. Any suggestions on how to solve this issue?

Are you trying to access Microsoft's newsgroups? If so, you can use
msnews.microsoft.com as the news server and subscribe to any Microsoft group
you desire. It is free, no signon, no password. You might try that, simply
to see if you can use regular NNTP newsgroup other than Earthlink's.

As for what Earthlink is telling you, the IP address assigned your account
comes from the ISP (Earthlink) and not from the router.

Take the mac address of the computer or old router that was previously
connected to Earthlink and clone/enter that in the MN-700;.
