I have an MN-700 routing to four computers. Three are
wired, one is wireless. When in router mode, and only when
in router mode, there is a 2.5 second stall, as reported
by dslreports. It makes browsing noticeably slower, as one
would expect. My throughput is still ok. This happens on
all four machines, so I can only deduce it is something in
the router. Used as an access point, this problem doesn't
happen. Has anyone seen this problem or know of a
solution? Thank you in advance.

I presume you are on a PPPoE connection. You have probably noticed your
upload speed is also about half what it should be.

Some time ago in this ng MS indicated this was a "feature" of the firewall
designed to protect your computer from internet nasties. No explanation why
this feature exists only on PPPoE connections.

Since MS is now out of the network hardware business I wouldn't hold my
breath on getting this "feature" fixed.

Thanks for the response. I found an easy solution ... I returned the MN-700
and bought a Belkin. I am very, very pleased with it after 2 days.
