MN-520 Wireless Notebook Adapter connection problem

Sounds like I do need another PC Adaptor card that will
work here in Paris.

However, I still would like to know why it's not
compatible. Aren't there networking standards with the
802.11b connections? Why won't the MS offering work?
Isn't the MS technology world wide?

the channels approved for use are different in europe than in the US
and Canada and this is handled in the driver and firmware. the
standard itself is the same.
