My wife's PC upstairs uses a MN 510 but goes to asleep often enough that I
am getting tired of the hike. [The PC is a Sony VAIO.]

Is there a way to get the MN 510 to stay "on" to wake the PC?

Are there other wireless adapters that would work?

Thanks for any coments.

I have the same problem with the MN-510 on my wife's downstairs PC. In
my case, I have to "wake up" the USB port by unplugging and re-plugging
the MN-510. The PC is old, and the adapter is getting long in the
tooth, too. (Funny how our wives often inherit our old stuff...)

So, I'm not sure if the problem is with the PC or the adapter. You
could try to borrow another (non-Microsoft) adapter to see if that is
the problem. With the low cost of 802.11b adapters these days...

power save settings on the laptop or card? Check for "allow computer
to turn this device off to save power" etc.
