MN-510 issue with XP SP 2

I have used a MN-500 and MN-510 network without issue for over one year.
When I installed XP SP 2 on the machine that is connected via the MN-510 I
lost all ability to connect to the Internet or the other Computer using the
MN-500. The Broadband Network utility gave an error message that I had an
incorrect security code. When examining the adapter settings settings in
the utility and the configure button was clicked it showed the WEP security
unchecked with no code. After re- entering the correct security code
several times, still no connection. Also after a restart the BNU appeared
to have lost the security code settings.

Yes I have disabled the firewall with no results to fix this problem.

I called the 800 number for Tech support and was told that this issue is
showing up and they currently have no fix for it. I was also told it would
be one to two weeks before a fix could be expected.

Seems odd to me that 3rd part routers and wireless adapters appear to work
without error and a product sold by Microsoft is the hardware that appears
to have issues....

Uninstall the BNU completely. You don't need it with XP. Use Windows
XP's built in wireless zero configuration to configure the MN-510. To
administer the MN500, use a web browser and go to http://192.168.2.1.

The folks on the support line should have told you that there was a
new downloadable version of the BNU (which you really don't need..)
and they should have been able to resolve this for you.

I had the same problem, what i did was uninstall the XP
SP 2 and i'm back to the old. What is funny, my laptop
running XP Home has the XP SP 2 installed and is running
well, the question is why the MN-510 network is giving us
such problem?
Let's hope for a fix soon.

I checked and already have the latest version of the BNU loaded and running.
I did the automatic update in July. This is supposed to be the version that
is compatible with XP SP 2. I hesitate to do uninstalls and work-arounds
hoping that Microsoft will support a product which is made and sold by them!

The BNU is only needed to configure wireless connections on computers
running Windows 98, Windows 2000, & Windows ME. Other then that it is
not needed.
