For some reason I cannot get my MN-510 usb adapter to
work or even see my wireless network through windows.
When I go into the adapter settings and manually change
the SSID under the adapter preferences it see's the
network in the microsoft broadband network utility but
when I try to enter any info it says error the seetings
could not be applied. what should I do?

Thanks,

-CV

First is the 802.11g router set to run in b/g mode?

Second is it set to run at a higher speed then the standard for 802.11*?

Third have you updated the firmware on both the NIC & the 802.11g router?

Fourth is the 802.11g router broadcasting the SSID (Disabling broadcast
of the SSID is not a valid form of security as every packet to & from
the router will have the SSID broadcast unencrypted)?

Fifth Which version of Windows are you running?

Uninstall the Microsoft Broadband networking software because you are
running Windows XP.

The firmware update for the MN-510 can be downloaded at
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/br...Downloads.aspx
& then select the MN-700.

Then download & install the file listed as "MSBNDownload.exe (12.4MB)".
