I can not install a MN-500 Base Station to my computer. I am using a
WIN98SE desktop. I meet or exceed all the system requirements and am
using the proper cables. All instructions have been followed
properly. The setup wizard detects my internet connection (I am using
cable provided by Comcast) and then prompts for me to connect the base
station. I connect the cable from my modem to the TO MODEM port on
the Base Station, and the computer to the 1st open port on the Base
Station. After plugging in the Base Station, the power light is a
steady green, the modem light is a blinking green, and the 1st
connection light is also green. At this point, the setup wizard says
it can not detect the Base Station, and I only have options to Retry
or Cancel the setup. Thinking it was a faulty base station, I tried
installing it on an XP Professional computer and had no problems at
all. I tried it again on my Win 98 and can not get the computer to
detect the MN-500. I have no firewall, anti virus software, or
anything else not recommended to be running during setup. I also
disabled everything in my Windows startup. In addition, I have no
problems with my Internet connection, if my computer is connected
directly to my cable modem via ethernet cable. Anyone see this before
and know a fix for this?
Thanks in advance,
Jeremy
