With DHCP you have to use app-triggered, since persistent
requires a static IP, but not all apps work well that
way. The benefit of app-triggered is taht the port only
opens while you are running the server (so it's safer and
your LAN becomes stealth once you close the server). You
can give it a shot and see if it works (its also easier).
Otherwise, assign a static IP to the PC, remove the IP
from the DHCP range, and use persistent port forwarding.
To assign a static IP go to the properties page for the
connection and set the IP to something like 192.168.2.2,
mask 255.255.255.0, and both gateway and DNS to
192.168.2.1.
Since you don't know if it is UDP or TCP, open both (two
lines). You can also try out and see which arrangement
works. With MN500 make sure you have firmware 1.11.017 so
that loopback is enabled -- this helps testing the server
using the public WAN IP. Remember that people accessing
your game will have to use the public WAN IP (not the PC
192.168.2.2 IP) -- the WAN IP shows on the home page of
the router at
http://192.168.2.1
