In the Base station Management Tool, I try to save the
configuration (Management, Backup and Restore Settings)
but it simply tries to download config.bin. When I try
to open, it doesn't know what program to use to open it.
Any tips?

You save the file. That's your config.
If you want to load that config back into the MN-500, you point the router
to that file.

The file itself is not suppose to be edited with tools of your choice.

Thanks, That makes sense. I'm sure it is an encrypted
binary file. I guess the fact that software once used
bin files like dll files got me off track.
