mn-500 no save settings & lose settings on power loss

My mn-500 loses all settings upon power down/loss (as if
the reset button is pressed) and is reset to default. Also,
I am unable to restore the router from a saved settings
file. It goes through the steps, but doesn't change
anything. This is really frustrating having to set this
thing up over and over again manually anytime the power
goes out or I have a problem with it.
Any ideas?
