The latest firmware for my MN-500 Wireless Router will
not install. I was told the resolution to this issue is
to match up the subnet masks in the WAN and LAN
settings. However, my ISP does not provide a static IP
address so I can't assign the subnet mask in the WAN
settings of the Base Station Management Tool. Plus, the
Base Station Management Tool doesn't allow me to change
the subnet mask in the LAN settings. Does anyone know of
a work-around?

Goto
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/br...Downloads.aspx

Select MN500
Download the msbndownload.exe file

Extract its contents with Winrar
You should see a dlf file for the MN500

Using that file, you can use the manual update feature within the Base
Station Management Tool to update the router's firmware.

Did you try that?

I tried that, but it still won't take. Any other
suggestions?

Thanks!
