MN-500 Dropping connection

I have an MN-500 and it connects fine. After an amount of
time (not always the same), I lose my internet (DSL)
connection through the wireless network (wired stays
connected). XP quickly then tells me that there are
wireless networks available and when I click on it, it
connects no problem.

Any ideas?

How far between the base station and the receiver?
What kind of walls are in the way? (keep in mind that
going through a wall at a 90 degreee angle is no problem,
but if you've got one at an oblique angle, the wall can
effectively be 10 feet wide)
What kinds of devices which may interfere are also present?
